A beautiful spring day!

Mommy and I spent some time outside in the backyard today because it was a beautiful spring day. I had lots of fun exploring.... Here are some action shots of me!!

I love pasta!

Tonight for dinner I tried pasta for the first time and it was a hit!!! More please!

Look out world... Avery is on the move!

Well it is official...Avery is crawling now. As the week goes by she is getting around a lot easier and I think with the crawling comes bravery. She is constantly wanting to pull up on everything and I have to laugh because she is a wobbly sight to see. She hasn't figured out how to move her feet so once she is "planted" she is stuck in position and will wobbly away. Today at nap time I caught the little monkey yet again playing in the crib but this time she had managed to fully pull herself up(good thing daddy lowered the mattress a few weeks ago).. I walked in to take a pic and of course she was smiling from ear to ear. She is very proud of herself these days!!

A little bit closer...

Today we are a little bit closer to crawling...Avery has now figured out how to use the 'slide' of the hardwood floors to help her to get where she wants to go!!!

Ike's 1st Birthday Party!

Today I was invited to my second birthday party ever. The first one was for my cousin Justin in December and today we went to Glen Ellyn to see Ike Martin who turned 1 on April 24th. Ike's mommy and my mommy have been great friends for many many years.

Just when I was dreaming about that cake Ike was eating, Aunt Darci came through and gave me some of that chocolate stuff she was eating... yummy!!! more please!!

Here is the birthday boy and me... We are only 3 1/2 months apart.... maybe one day he will take me on a date for more of that chocolate cake he had at his house....

I had a great day and got to meet lots of new friends... Happy 1st Birthday Ike!!!

Persistence pays off...

Although she may not be crawling quite yet it doesn't stop Avery from getting what she wants!

Making a connection..

Avery wanted to show you that now she can clap her hands without you showing and doing it for her but just by asking her to... She now has made the connection of the word and action!!

2 tiny feet....

Today we went to the park again and all Avery wanted to do was stand on the park bench... So we did and she stood there and took in the world....

Something so sweet about those little feet and toes...

A few updates from Avery...

After I turned 8 months on Saturday I decided it was time to start doing some new things... So here are some recent 'tricks' I can do....

I can share my food with you now. If you ask me "Avery can have a bite?" most likely I will offer you a piece unless it is something really good that I just can't part with. Meme first introduced me to this over the weekend and now mommy always seems to want to have my rice cakes but I can't understand why because she knows where they are in the cabinet. You would think she could get her own and eat as many as she wants.. but I humor her most times and let her try mine.

And now at nap time I have figured out how to pull myself up in the crib to an almost standing position.....

And if that isn't smart enough I will then slightly turn my head and look at the camera to tell mommy "hey look at me...! You better come get me". It has worked a few times but other times mommy just makes me figure it out on my own and I eventually go to sleep.

Lots of giggles.....

My cousins Justin and Jack made me a bear named Pinkberry at Build A Bear a few weeks ago and I LOVE her so much. She makes me giggle....

Im 8 months old!

Today I turned 8 months old. It was a lucky day for me because my Meme and Papa happened to be at my house too. I got to spend the entire day with them..It was a great one!

Papa and daddy put up my new swing in the backyard and I had my first ride....


After my afternoon nap Meme, mommy and I walked to the park and played. Here I am on the slide...

Then mommy and I went down the big slide together. It went really fast...

My 1st Easter in Springfield!!

This weekend mommy, daddy and I drove to Springfield to spend my first Easter with Meme and Papa. I had so much fun even though it was a really quick trip. My meme and Papa spoiled me rotten...... Below are a lot of pictures of all the things I got to do in just 2 days!!!!! I am a lucky girl....

On Saturday we went to the mall and Papa took me on my first carousel ride. I had so much fun!

Next up was getting to see the Easter bunny.. Mommy daddy, Meme and Papa all had bets on whether I would cry or not. Mommy and Papa said yes I would and Meme and daddy said no.... you decide for yourself....

Looks like mommy and Papa won the bet! I wasn't so sure I liked the bunny this year.

Then when we were done.. Meme tried this wig on me from the store..I think maybe one day I'll dye my hair pink. What do you think mommy and daddy?

On Sunday we all went to church together and then went to the park and took some pictures. I didn't really want to smile for the pics but there were a few that turned out.
