Avery paints!

This morning mommy braved the first painting adventure with Avery. She was very excited to try out her new paints she got for her birthday. Little did mommy know they wree not washable but she made 2 beautiful pictures and said she wanted to give them to daddy!

Happy 6 weeks Kellan!

Here is a comparison of Avery at 6 weeks and Kellan at 6 weeks. I see some similiarities but also differences. At 6 weeks Kellan has been smiling for about a week and is sleeping at night anywhere between a 4 to 8 hour stretch. He is pretty inconsistent but has given mama an 8 hour stretch last week which was very nice. Kellan loves to be outdoors too, and he prefers to be held!! During the day he is eating every 2 hours which makes for a tired mama!!! Avery continues to be a big helper and loves to be with her little brother. Hope it stays that way!!

2 year doctors appointment

Yesterday Avery had her 2 year doctors appointmentand we are happy to say she is looking good and meeting all her requirments for her age. She didn't even have to get a shot this time around and doesn't go back in until 3 years. Wow!!!

So here are her stats at age 2:

Weight 24 pounds 11 ounces 24%
Height 35 3/4 inches 95%

So we still have a tall skinny toddler... we are still trying to figure out where she got her height at this point she is projected to be 5 feet 10 inches as an adult. She might be walking the runways soon:) Papa calls her his supermodel and in his eyes she is:)

A visit from Norah!!

My dear friend Norah came to visit today and we had a playdate. The kids had not gotten together for over a year so this was a special treat! Marinda is 27 months old and she and Avery had a great time playing in the backyard. They even had lunch together of course naked:) Then Sydney(3 months) and Kellan enjoyed their first hug:) It is so fun having our kids so close in age... just wish they lived a lot closer!

On August 14th, Avery, mommy and Kellan packed up the car and headed to Springfield to spend the week with Meme, Papa, Uncle Jay, Aunt Laura and Justin and Jack. Thanks to papa who drove us home. It was Kellan's first road trip and he did pretty good. Here are a few pictures of some of the swimming fun!

Illinois State Fair!

Here are some fun pictures from our Illinois State Fair outing. We managed to go out there two times. Avery's favorite was seeing all the animals and the giant slide. She didn't mind eating the yummy black walnut taffy, donuts and lemonade shake-ups either:)

Avery's 2nd birthday party with family

On Sunday August 13th, we celebrated Avery's 2nd birthday party with family at our house. Avery had the time of her life playing with her cousins!! We celebrated with a barnyard theme because she loves farm animals. It was a rainy day so we had to stay inside but Avery didn't mind. Thanks to everyone who came and spoiled a little princess. She is one lucky girl!
