This morning I caught this picture of Kellan while we were shopping and it reminded me of one of Avery that we took when she was the same age(5months). Our kids sure do have chubby cheeks:)

Lights at Brookfield Zoo!

Last night we braved the crazy traffic to Brookfield Zoo and had such a fun time at the zoo. Avery's favorite part was the BIG CATS and Kellan loved looking at all the lights. Here are a few pictures from the night from Aunt Laura's camera!!

For the man with the white beard...

Tonight mommy and I made cookies for Santa. I had so much fun trying out the batter and decorating them with sprinkles!!! I am pretty sure I got more on me then mommy did. Can you guess what kind we made?

1st snowfall of the year!

Saturday morning 12.17.2011 we woke up to snow on the ground. It was a good thing that mommy had just bought me new snow boots. I went out there first thing and loved it this year. My favorite part was making a snowball and eating it!! Can't wait for more!

Happy 5 months Kellan James!

Seems hard to believe that Kellan is already 5 months old. He is such a happy and fun little guy these days and loves to be stimulated and try new things. He is sitting up on his own and putting everything in his mouth. He loves his big sister and gives her big smiles when he sees her. I think they are going to be the best of friends!! Happy 5 months sweet baby boy! We are blessed to have you!

Christmas bells

This morning at school Avery and her class put on a Christmas song and bell show for all the moms when we picked them up today. She was so excited when Kellan and I got there to watch. The picture is not great because it was taken from my phone but she sure is smiling from ear to ear!

Officially sitting up on his own

Kellan is sitting on his own as of the last couple of days. It seems hard to believe that this could even be possible as he is not even 5 months old already but he is sitting there for minutes at a time with no support. Now he has no interest in rolling over which he still has never attempted but he is working on mastering sitting up playing these days:)

Sitting up with support but he can now play for awhile like this. He is also teething like crazy as you can see from his very wet shirt. Avery was 5 1/2 months when she got her first teeth so we will see when his come through!!!

It's a bath night!

Some of you already know this but.... Avery LOVES her bath! We are only giving one to her and Kellan every other night because of Avery's eczema. She would prefer to have one every night. Kellan is also a big fan of the bath and has been from the very beginning!! It's a win win for us on Bath Night! It is very cute because Avery will start asking early in the morning.. "mommy is it a bath night?" And if the answer is yes she always says "it's a baf(th) night!"(with a huge smile)
I think she likes to prepare herself and she will drop anything when it's time for that bath(with Kellan of course.. she likes to help wash him).

This morning we took Avery and Kellan to Bass Pro Shop in Gurnee to see Santa. A couple of friends told me about this little gem that the store has Santa there through the holidays and it is free with free pictures and not a long line like at the mall. So we headed there this morning and Avery was so excited to go and kept saying "sit on Santas lap" but as soon as we got there and she saw him she said "no sit on Santas lap". Haha she was a big girl and did sit there with Kellan but the pictures tell a good story. She told Santa that she wanted a bike and baby doll. It was very cute!!!

Tis the Season

I've been hearing a lot things about Avery and Kellan looking alike, not looking alike.. Several people have said he looks like me and we know that Avery looks like her daddy. I pulled out this old picture of Avery in the same santa hat that Kellan tried on this week! They are just about the same age and in opinion, I totally think they look like siblings for sure!
