In the last week Avery has shown interest in wanting to wear her big girl underwear and she is determined to do it! So we are taking her lead and starting potty training today. We are making a chart where she gets to put a stamp on it every time she goes in the potty and then when she gets 2 or 3 stamps she can pick from her treasure bag or as she calls it... her presents!! We had our 1st pee pee in the potty this morning and she got to pick something in her treasure bag because the 1st time is a BIG DEAL so she needed to be rewarded.... and no surprise here but she picked the baby:) Here's to more pee pees in the potty in the days and weeks to come:)

6 month update
Kellan had his 6 month appointment on Friday and we definitely have a very healthy boy on our hands. Here is what it looks like:
Weight: 18 pounds 8 ounces= 70%percentile
Height: 27 3/4 inches=91st percentile
Head: 45 3/4=98% percentile
We have a healthy, tall boy who has a very big head!!
And update we have our 1st 2 teeth on the bottom. They finally pushed through at just about 6 months. Looks like Kellan is on the same track as Avery with early teeth!!
AND not to forget or jinx it but Kellan has just completed his 10th night of sleeping through the night for us! No getting up to put the pacifier back in. I hope that since I just wrote this I didn't speak too soon. Mommy is finally getting some solid sleep after 6+ months. It feels good!

I think she did an amazing job. Catching such natural smiles and pictures of a 2 year old and 6 month old is no easy task:)

1st big snowfall of the year
Today we had our first big snowfall of the year and the minute daddy came home Avery had her boots on, hat and gloves ready and wanted to help him shovel the driveway. She was having so much fun so daddy made a snowman with her(which was a very sad looking snowman but there is room for some improvements with some added body parts), and then a little sledding at the end of the night!!! She didn't want to come in of course but she did and we warmed her up with a nice warm bath.
"Let's go dada"
Making a snowman
Eating the snow(that was her dinner)
The lone snowman.. it needed a mommy's touch for sure
Loving the snow!
Let's catch the snow
My favorite picture of the night. This pretty much sums up the pure happiness from that little girl playing in the snow. Nothing better than the little things in life!

This morning is Avery and daddy's first swim class together. They will be going every Sunday morning from 9:40-10:10 for the next couple of months. We thought it would be a fun way to spend a little daddy/daughter time together plus mommy is going anywhere near a swimsuit or pool right now. Avery woke up this morning very excited to go and she also insisted on wearing her sunglasses. I'm wondering if she thought they were going to the outdoor pool where it would be sunny. Stay tuned for how it went!
UPDATE: Daddy had a lot of fun and Avery did too. Daddy said that at first Avery was a little timid and unsure but she warmed up very quickly, well not really warmed up as daddy said the water was really cold but she enjoyed the class. And just as a proud daddy he came home and said" Avery was the best swimmer by far in the class:)"

Having fun!
Today we looked over and Kellan was playing with a sheet of Avery's stickers and this is what we saw when he looked up:) He had no idea he had put 2 little stickers on his sweet little nose. As Avery likes to say "too funny"
A few minutes later we looked over and he was reading the new issue of People Magazine. Haha catching up on some gossip I guess:)

1st time in the big boy chair!
Last night it was a bath night and we decided to try Kellan out in the big boy seat that Avery actually used too! He is sitting up now unsupported for long periods of time so we thought he might be ready for the swivel chair. He wasn't sure at first and it didn't help that his big sister was pouring water all over him but he survived:)
