Look at our big boy

This week has been an exciting one for us in the Sherman house.  Avery is a big girl now and Kellan is taking his first steps.  Where did my babies go????  It is all going way too fast!

What???? Another new baby doll???? Yes, Avery Grace is now the proud mommy of a new "big girl" doll that she got today because she is now POTTY TRAINED. If there ever was an easy way to potty train we did it. We waited until she was ready and willing and she did FABULOUS. The first 2 or 3 days we stayed around the house and we had 2 to 3 accidents day 1 and 2 but in the 3 days she has had NO accidents and is even waking up dry from her naps and nighttime.  No more diapers for this big girl and so she celebrates with a new big girl doll that has big girl pants on just like her:) We couldn't be more proud of our BIG girl!

Today was Avery's last officialday at her PDO class or as we have been calling it all year "school". I have to say our decision to put Avery in this program was one of the best decisios we could have made for her socially this year. She LOVED going every week and never once put up a fight because she didn't want to go to school. She made many friends and learned great life lessons when she was away from mommy.  The first day I remember the teacher saying that she had a difficult time with transitions and didn't understand how to move from one activity to the next.. she also had to bring her blanket and pacifer everyday just to get through the door for the first several months. Today she was asking to go to school at 8am and with a skip in her step off she went today with no worries of whether mommy was coming back to get her. I hope that she enjoys her new school next year as much as she had enjoyed this program!

This weekend we got out our water table for the first time this year.  I did some reminising when Avery first got this as an early birthday present from Meme and Papa.  So I looked back at pictures and found this one of her when she was playing with it for the first time, she was 11 1/2 months old. Kellan tried it out on Saturday for the first time at 10 months old.  So fun to look back:)

A morning at Lambs Farm

This morning we went with friends to Lambs Farm. This was our first ever trip there and it was a beautiful and sunny day for it. We had a lot of fun. Here are a few pictures from the day!!

Happy 10 months

Well we have officially hit the 10 month mark which seems hard to believe.   Kellan's monthly pictures are getting a little harder to take as he is just so curious about everything.  This morning I wanted to see if I could get 1 good picture but no such luck. All he wanted to do was take the sticker off of his shirt;) Oh well. Happy 10 months baby boy. We love you!

He's on the move

Yesterday we were lucky to have Pie with us for the entire day. I have to say there is not much that Avery gets more excited about then a day with her Aunt Pie. We spent some time outside and took some video of Kellan using his walker. He is getting so much better with control and getting faster and faster. All he wants to do these days is hold your hands and walk everywhere.  Here is one of the videos we took.. there was a better one but I can't get it uploaded from my phone. Enjoy:)

WOW...nothing beats this beautiful weather today. We spent the morning at the park and even had lunch there!

Happy Mother's Day

I spent my special day with my 2 sweet babies.  We went to Lake Arlington for the morning and played in the sand. Then we went to Home Depot and planted our flowers for our front porch. It was a great day!!!

Post Surgery Kellan

Yesterday, we had a very successful surgery for Kellan. He did great during the 2 hour and 20 minute procedure and the doctor said that our success rate for no further problems is around 85-90%. We are hoping for the best!!! The crazy thing is he has been so happy and content since we left the hospital. He is really a trooper!!! Thanks for all the prayers. We are so thankful to have this behind us!!!

As you all know our sweet little guy is going to have surgery tomorrow morning. He will be going into surgery at 9:00am and it will be 3 hour procedure. Please keep him in your prayers and thoughts. We are expecting a perfect situation and a fast recovery. All good thoughts would be appreciated. I caught this picture this morning and love to see my little boy happy!!!!
