1st day at St. James

Today was a big day for us!! Avery had her first official day going to school at St. James. She was super excited this morning when she woke up and was very happy to have her daddy even stay home so everyone could take her together.  She was all smiles.....UNTIL... we hugged and said good-bye and then she was screaming and crying:(. The first few weeks are always the hardest on everyone separating but I know she will greet us at time of pickup with a big smile!!

A day out with Thomas

Yesterday we spent the morning driving to Union Illinois to experience a day out with Thomas the Train. Avery was very excited at the thought of riding on another train and Thomas just added to the excitment. Even our little guy seemed to understand that we were going to go on a choo choo. He kept saying" choo choo" the whole drive there. It was unfortunately a rainy morning and a rain or shine event that took place outside but we didnt try and let the rain bother us.  Avery loved the 15 minute train ride and checking out all the fun stuff there. They even got their first tattoo. Avery chose Rosie and Kellan... well daddy chose Thomas for him. He screamed while getting it on but it is so cute now because if you ask him where Thomas is he will point to his arm and say "Thomas".  Below are a few pictures from the day. Enjoy, we sure did!

Super excited to be on the train

As our final days of summer are approaching we decided to check out something new with the kids this morning and go to this park/lake area called Twin Lake in Palatine just a few minutes from us where you can rent paddle boats.  So today was a first for Avery and Kellan when they took a paddle boat ride in the lake. We even brought along food for the ducks and they came up really close to our boat and the kids LOVED it.  After the 30 minute ride we played on the playground:) What a great morning

Preschool Orientation Day 8/23/2012

Three years old now and ready to start school. On Thursday, Avery and mommy went to meet Avery's preschool teacher and tour her new room at St. James. We got to meet some of the other students as well. There will be 16 kids in her classroom with 1 teacher, named Mrs. Boyer and one teachers aide name Mrs. Thomas. Avery of course wanted to make sure there were baby dolls in the room first and foremost when we arrived and there were but she has been a little worried because are only 2 and appears to be more girls then boys in her class and a mad rush for the babies at least on this day.  We will see how that works itself out:) Avery got to find her  own cubby with her name on it and was proud of herself that she noticed the "A" and she said" mommy that says Avery". Tuesday is the big day. Will have lots more pictures and stories to tell then.....

A wiggle kind of day

Tonigh we surprised Avery for her birthday with a trip to see the Wiggles in concert. She was not sure what to think at first but then once we were in the car she asked no less than 20 times if we were going to the wiggles "after this car ride". She had so much fun and so did mommy and daddy. What a true joy to see that little girls face light up when those 4 silly guys came out on stage driving their big red car.  Thanks to Aunt Pie who stayed home with Kellan so that our almost 3 year old could enjoy some one on one time with her mama and dada.

Birthday Party Playdate

This morning Avery had some of her favorite friends over to play and celebrate her almost 3rd birthday. We had a perfect day with perfect sunny weather. She had a permanent smile on her face and loved having all her friends over to play. Seems hard to believe that we have an almost 3 year old. I swear I just was giving birth to her in Bentonville Arkansas but sadly 3 years have passed and our sweet girl is still sweet as ever with just a touch of sass now.
