We had a great night, although a super rainy one celebrating Halloween. We managed to get out for about 30 minutes in somewhat dry conditions and then braved the rest of the walk in the rain. Our little Superman and Tinker Belle(yes she changed costumes for tonight and thank you Meme and Papa for buying both the kids costumes this year), they got lots of candy and loved running up to the houses. All in all, another great Halloween:)

Halloweenie
A few pictures from pre-Halloween activities. Last weekend we took the kids to a trunk or treat at the park district and met some friends there and today Avery had a parade and sing along at her school. Enjoy the pics of my little spiderman and Cinderella. More to come tomorrow !

A mexican getaway
We cannot thank Meme and Papa enough for staying with the kids for the week while we got away with friends to warm weather, sunshine, a place where we could eat and drink at our leisure, sleep in and reconnect with ourselves and friends. It is exactly what we needed to push through the winter and cold months ahead. Thank you meme and papa and everyone else that helped keep the kiddos more than happy. I am still finding goodies in the house that someone must have been talked into this week at the store. We are more than blessed to have people in our lives that we feel 100% comfortable with leaving our kids behind and know they are in great hands and not missing mommy and daddy at all.
Here are a few pictures from the week. We had so much fun with two other couples this time. It was a complete surprise for my friends hubby who didn't know he was going until the limo picked him up the morning of our flight out. Happy 40th to Anthony. What a surprise of a lifetime!

First day of We-e Care for Kellan
Well today marked a milestone for two of us. Mommy had her first 2 hour block without any kids for the first time in 4 years in the morning and Kellan had his first day at his new we-e care program through the church. It was an exciting morning for all and Kellan was ready for his first day. He was asking to go at 8:15am and school didn't start till 9:30am. We packed his book bag up, his lunch bag and off we went. Mommy was more than nervous and anxious at the thought of leaving this little guy for 3 1/2 hours on his own. Seemed as if mommy was more upset than Kellan. He was dressed in his school best(yes daddy green pants) and off he went. Thankfully he had a friend in there as well, Sofia, and they tackled this first day of uncertainties hand in hand. The three teachers all made a point to come up to me and tell me that he did great. He did cry and they did have to give him his pacifier and blanket but then we was fine. Much to my surprise on a first day he ate up all his lunch and even took a walk outside with his class. So all in all, a great start, the hard part comes next week........ Way to go Kellan. You are such a big boy and mommy and daddy are so proud of you!

He insisted on carrying all his stuff all by himself. |
Walking up to the door and right before the heavy bag and the heavy lunch tipped him over head first. |
walking in to his room. no tears but looking back for mommy. |

Apple picking 2013
On Saturday we went on our second annual apple picking adventure with our friends, the Grippo's. We went to Royal Oaks Orchard which is about an hour and 10 minutes north of us. It was absolutely perfect day for it as the weather was gorgeous. The kids loved picking them and we ended up with two gigantic bags full of all types. We are planning on making apple pie and applesauce this week and anything else we can find to use up the 100 we have in the refrigerator:)
