I'm 3 weeks old today!

Here I am on my 3 week birthday.. My mommy told me today that I was officially 21 days old so I thought I would tell you a little bit about myself and what I like and don't like in my first three weeks of life..

My favorite things include: Meme and Papa's visits, my pacifier, walks in the stroller, time spent in my swing, eating, looking at all the things around me especially the ceiling fans, my new mirror that I can stare at for a long time with all the bright colors, daddy reading stories to me in my chair in my room and I love to be held and sleep in my mommy and daddy's arms(something mommy said is going to come back and haunt her in fact it already has:))!

Things I do not like: dirty diapers(can you blame me?)taking naps, sleeping at night, a hungry tummy, losing my pacifier when I am trying to take a nap, my crib, and being swaddled. Oh yeah and schedules... mommy is trying this new routine with me that includes eating, wake time and nap time.. ugg! I hate schedules...I like the eating and wake time but the nap time I am fighting everyday.

Meme and Papa say their good-byes..

I had such a great week having Meme and Papa here and today it was time for them to leave. This picture shows how I feel about that........
"WHAT???? You have to leave and go back to Springfield??????"

"Ok I think I'll be fine with just having mommy and daddy around but I like it the other way better"

"I will miss you and can't wait to see you in October!"

Rub a dub dub... mommy put me in the tub!

And although I did not like my bath the 1st time I tried it... I really didn't mind the next couple of times because mommy tried this other bath tub that is much easier for me to lay down in and it is softer for me.... Now that my belly button is all healed up I am ready to brave a full bath I think...Stay tuned for that!

Wooooooo... mommy catch me I am going to fall!!!!...

Here I am getting my hair washed...next up is when mommy brushes my hair. I love that part of the bath routine! Pretty soon I'll be wanting highlights just like my mommy gets at the salon!

Finally the letters are up!

After 9 months of waiting to put up the letters in Avery's room.. mommy finally gets around to doing it today. The room is now complete!

Meme and Papa come to visit!!

Week 2 and my first shopping trip with mommy and meme... We went downtown to the farmers market to get some vegetables and fruit but we had the wrong time so we have to go back. Here I am ready to go and spend mommy and daddy's money:)

Meme holding me. We are enjoying the weather outside... It's been so nice here for August.. only in the mid 80's during the day....I love to get out in the sunshine!
Here she is... The one and only... MEME!!!

AND the one and only PAPA!!

AND my big girl belly button!

Week 2 has started out quite exciting for Avery. On Sunday August 23rd she officially lost her umbilical cord.. Mommy was feeling a bit sad as that was the last sign of how she survived for 9 months in her belly....Avery wanted to post a picture of her big girl belly button:)

Then we went to the doctors on Monday to make sure we were gaining weight and that our jaundice was getting better!! We got an A+ report card. We are officially back to our birth weight of 7 pounds and 10 ounces and our jaundice level went way down.. YEAH for us!! Mommy has been making sure I get plenty of milk and I am one happy baby when my belly is full!

In addition to all this excitement Meme and Papa are here and I have been getting lots of love from them. They have been taking me for walks, feeding me bottles and talking to me lots. I love all the stimulation for sure! Thanks Meme and Papa!

I'm 1 week old today!

Daddy gives Avery her first bottle on her 1 week birthday.

It seems hard to believe that a week ago today we were in the hospital anxiously awaiting the arrival of Avery. The last week has been filled with a ton of emotions. Although mommy is not getting much sleep at night she is surviving because daddy (aka Mr. Mom) is taking care of all the chores around the house. He is doing a great job which really helps out when you are sleep deprived. But unfortunately daddy has to return to work tomorrow and we are sad about that. Avery has loved her morning walks with him and Trixie!!
In the last week we have been to a couple of doctors appointments and had friends over to the house to meet Avery. We are doing great and can't wait for Meme and Papa to come back at the end of the week to visit again!!
Today we went to the doctors and Avery weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces.

1 week old photo shoot....

More to come soon......

Avery's first bath

Last night, mommy and daddy gave Avery her first bath... Until her umbilical cord falls off we can only give her a sponge bath... She was not exactly sure she liked the idea of this and pretty much cried the entire time. Mommy was really fast at it while daddy took some video and pictures. Daddy has been such a big help these first couple of days... Our transition home has included last nights and early mornings but we think it is completely worth it for our little peanut....

Here comes the noise!!! Avery has a set of lungs on her for sure... we should have known this as she came out of mommy's tummy screaming... We think she looks like her daddy but may have a little bit of her mommy's 'spicy' personality

She even has her own personal towel but that was only comforting for so long.

Ahhhhhhhh.............Thank goodness that is over....She has asked us to maybe pick a different Friday night activity for her next week.... she says that "popcorn and a movie will do".

Day 4......

You can never have enough pictures of something so sweet and cute!

Mommy, daddy and Avery and are doing great and getting adjusted to life at home. It seems hard to believe that she is already 4 days old today. We are just figuring out our schedule and we even have been going for some walks to get some sunshine and fresh air. We are loving every minute with our sweet little girl. Today we went to the doctor for her newborn check-up and we were happy to hear that everything is looking good. She has lost some weight which is very normal and now weighs 7 pounds and 1 ounce. She should start gaining weight from here on out. She is just a little peanut for sure. So perfect!!!!

Avery goes home!

Today we got to leave the hospital and take our little girl home. Here are some pictures of day 1 at home......She is doing great and eating and sleeping lots!!

So sweet! This is the position she was in on the ultrasound at 35 weeks.... She loves her hands and moves them around a lot!

Here I am going home from the hospital on August 12th. I had my new outfit on that mommy got me at Gymboree!

Now the hard part begins... It is just mommy, daddy and Avery!

My first car ride.... Slept through the whole drive home.

Home at last!!! A family of 3 now!

Bright eyes!

Trying out my bouncer from Grandma and Grandpa Sherman.

And lastly, I even tried out my swing from my Aunt Jean.
Can't wait to post more pictures to share!
