For the love of food...

I am loving catching videos of Kellan these days because he is at that stage where he likes the camera.

I can't say the same about his big sister:)  One of Kellan's favorite times is when he is eating. The sweet boy LOVES food. Any food and all food!

9 month doctors appointment

Today we took  Kellan in for his 9 month doctors visit. He got 2 shots and did quite well just cried for a little bit on the second one.  So we have a very healthy boy on our hands but we all know that by just looking at him:). The doctor said that he is average weight for a 1 year old. Oops, looks like he is about 3 months ahead of the game but that makes sense considering this child is eating just about everything he can get his hands on. I haven't come across a single food yet that he will not eat and he much prefers table food over his baby food.

Here are his stats:
Weight 21 pounds 1 ounce= 74th percentile
Height is 29 1/2 inches=90th percentile
Head is 47 3/4 inches=99th percentile

And I was curious about Avery's stats when she was 9 months old so I went back and looked:

Weight: 17 pounds~ 25%
Height: 28 1/4 inches~75%
Head: 44 cm~50%

Yep it is official Kellan's head takes the cake!! So what does that mean??? At 9 months his head is bigger than 99% of any other child at the same age.  Going to be a smart one I guess with all that brain space:)

Our first choo choo ride

So I am a little behind but wanted to add a couple of pictures from our day taking the choo choo train for the first time. Last weekend on Saturday April 14th we decided to take Avery and Kellan on the train from Arlington Heights to downtown Chicago and have lunch and then head back for naps. Avery has been asking to go on the train for awhile. We had a great time and Avery loved moving from seat to seat and then going up on the second level of the train and looking out the windows. It was a great morning!!! I didn't have my camera so I only got a couple of pictures from my phone so they are not the best quality...

I was looking through pictures tonight and I found this one of Avery around the same age and I took the picture of Kellan today.. !! I think there is no denying they are brother and sister;)

A day at the beach in Evanston

This morning we took a trip to see Aunt Pie at her house since she always comes our way every week we thought it would be nice to come see her. When we got there Avery wanted to feed the ducks so we drove over and walked through Northwestern campus and stumbled upon the beach where Avery LOVED every part of it right down to the sand in her toes. We had such a great time and will be back soon!!

Happy 9 months to our sweet baby boy

Seems hard to believe that you are already 9 months old. You are changing so much and becoming quite the busy bee. You love to stand up and hold on to things, you adore any food that you can get your hands on and your biggest love is your sister who can make you smile or laugh more than anyone else. What a blessing you are Kellan James. It is all going too fast!

Easter Egg Coloring

A kickoff to a great Easter weekend... Avery was super excited to dye Easter eggs this morning and actually did a super job all on her own. She would plop them in the water, then check to see if they were done, dry them off and top them off with a sticker. Mommy forget to buy vinegar so most of the eggs turned pink as the other colors would not take with just water but Avery was just as happy to have 10 pink colored and 2 light green colored eggs when she was done!

This absolutely puts a smile on my face everytime I watch

An Easter Egg Hunt

This morning Avery had her first Easter Egg hunt at one of the parks near by. She wasn't exactly sure of what to do and was very timid. She did manage to pick up about 6 eggs from the sea of eggs.

A week in Springfield

We were all very lucky to have spent our spring break in Springfield with Meme and Papa. We had a great 8 days with our favorite people in the world. I didn't take many pictures but did manage a few from one day at the park and one day when we went to see the Easter bunny at the mall.
