I'm 7 weeks old today!

And so happy about it!

A perfect day for a walk

It was a beautiful fall day today(well it actually felt more like summer since it was 85 degrees) so mommy, daddy, Trixie and I packed up the car and headed to Bella Vista. Bella Vista is about 20 minutes from my house and the first place that mommy and daddy lived in Arkansas. They have a really great trail around the lake so off we went!!

Here I am in my stroller.. I may not look very thrilled but I promise I love walks!

Too much walking for a 7 week old.. I fell asleep about half through the 2 1/2 miles.

Here is my daddy and my doggy, Trixie. The verdict is still out if I have noticed this big black thing yet. Mommy and daddy think I might have noticed Trixie today while playing on the floor at home but they are not 100% sure. One day soon I am sure to be crawling after her.."Get ready Trixie!"

Here is a nice stream of water for Trixie to get a drink at..It is kinda like a pit stop for a doggy. Wish I could get some of that for me... boy oh boy... I was sweaty and got really thirsty.

I can lift my head and hold myself up!

Here I am on Papa's tummy working on holding my head up . I am getting stronger and stronger every day. I just started holding up myself with my arms today.. Maybe I'll be big and strong like my daddy!!!(he lifts lots of weights you know:))........

Papa has been talking to me and making funny sounds all morning... I really think he is a funny guy and I smile and coo at him all the time..Here I am with him in some pictures.. I am having so much fun and I have been smiling away but my mommy is just not catching them on camera today but that's ok.

I'm 6 weeks old!

Not much to report on this week except that my Papa came back down to visit me in Arkansas. YEAH!!!! He has been taking me on a lot of walks. I love to be outside! I am also still sleeping pretty good still for my mommy. I am sleeping around 6-7 hours a night at one stretch and mommy feels like she is a new lady:) She has also just went back to running but she told me today that she was as slow as a 90 year old women and turtles may have been passing her up. I am smiling a ton now!! If you will talk to me I will smile at you!! Papa has been making me smile all week!!

The biggest surprise!

So yesterday I had the biggest surprise and Geoff was in on it the whole time. We started our day off as we normally would mommy still in her pajamas and a bit of cleaning on a Saturday morning. Geoff tells be earlier in the week that he has to run some errands and would be leaving the house around 11:30. I say "why at exactly 11:30?" anyways I said "ok" (have to pick my own battles::) and off he goes... Then about 45 minutes later I get a call that he is on his way home and he got me something and needs me to come to the garage because he needs my help carrying it..Ok so I am now thinking my husband that goes to the gym 5-6 days a week to lift weights needs my help carrying something??? hummmm that is weird:)

So as I make my way out there(still in my pajamas) and I got the biggest surprise. Amy had come to visit me all the way from Chicago and Geoff had just picked her up at the airport. I was sooooo excited and happy to see my best friend!!!!! I am very much looking forward to having her here for a few days and Avery was very excited to meet her "aunt" Amy!!!

Out with the newborn... and in with the 0-3 month size clothes!

Avery has graduated into most of her clothes that are 0-3 month size. Although several of them are still a bit big on her the newborn clothes are just too tight. Avery says that all that yummy milk is making her big and strong and a very happy baby.. Today mommy tried out my new jeans and my cute sweater. I liked them but all these pictures are just too much for me some days.

Sleep makes mommy happy!

And last night our sweet little Avery Grace went 7 hours sleeping! Mommy had to do a double take of the clock at 5:00am this morning just to make sure her eyes weren't crossed and she was seeing things correctly. Sure enough it was 5:00am and mommy and Avery went to bed at 10:00pm.... I immediately text daddy this morning to tell him the good news!!!

Shop till you drop!

We're going where mommy??? To the mall.????.... YAHOO!

Now this is not the first time Avery has been to the mall in her short 5 1/2 weeks of life but it was the first time that it was just a mommy and Avery trip.. Just about the time I got Avery in her car seat and told her where we were going... I got this response.....(poor daddy I think all of the girls in his life are going to love to shop)!



" I'm ready let's shop till we drop mommy!!!"

Who needs a binky (or I like to call it my BB, Aunt Laura helped me come up with that name) when you've got your own hand to suck on?

I am even getting so good at it I make loud sucking sounds... now only if mommy or daddy would put a little chocolate on my hand I would be in heaven! Actually I'll take some Dairy Queen ice cream on it instead because my mommy ate a lot of that when I was in her belly! YUM YUM!

Although the pictures are not the best quality(mommy can't figure out the camera and the window of opportunity to catch these pics are short) we caught some really cute smiles today.
We are so lucky as Avery has been a great baby her first 5 weeks of life. She is so content and happy most of the time!! Over the last couple of weeks she is growing big and mommy has noticed lots of changes. She is now noticing everything around her and loves to look around and explore. She still loves to look at the ceiling fans and pictures hanging on the wall. She enjoys being in her swing and is now noticing the mobile and mirror above it. It is so cute to see her stare at herself. She also loves to bring her hand up to her mouth and suck on it which is new in the last week or so. She is not yet noticing her hands but I think it is just a matter of time!

Avery is also starting to show mommy and daddy that she can sleep in longer stretches at night. Her usual schedules involves mommy getting up every 3 hours to feed her but in the last week she has went 6 hours one night and then 5 1/2 hours another night. We hope that in the weeks to come she will continue this trend!

8 pounds 10 ounces and 22 inches of love!

Today Avery went to the doctors for her 1 month check-up. As mommy and daddy expected the doctor said she looked perfect:)! She weighed in at 8 pounds 10 ounces and 22 inches long. Our little peanut is growing so big! She is such a happy girl and is the love of our life!!! We are so blessed!

I am one month old today!

Can you believe it? Today I am one month old. Time is flying by and mommy and daddy are taking such great care of me!!!!! I love all my visitors to the house and the many friends that have been so generous and sent me all kinds of welcoming presents. I am pretty sure I am going to be the best dressed baby in all of Arkansas and the most loved for sure! Tomorrow I have to go to the doctors for a check-up. I am a little nervous about that because the doctor comes in with this funny looking gown on and makes me get all naked and then he shakes me around a bit. He also puts me in this funny 'tray' and then reads some numbers off to mommy. I think it is called a scale but that thing is no place for a baby but I know my mommy is anxious to see how much I weigh so I will put on a brave face for her tomorrow and then the first thing we are going to do when we get out is call my daddy and share the news with him!!!

Aunt Laura comes to visit!

On Saturday we went to pick up Aunt Laura from the airport. I was so excited to finally meet her. She has been taking such good care of me and helping mommy and daddy out around the house. We went shopping yesterday and spent some time at the mall and even picked out my Halloween costume but I am going to keep it a secret on what I am going to be but I think i am going to be really cute! Today we took some pictures outside! Here I am.. I turned 4 weeks old on Monday!

Mommy just cannot resist herself because she says that I am getting bigger and bigger everyday. I am still wearing my newborn clothes but some outfits are getting too short on me.. Maybe I am going to have long legs? Don't really know where I would get those from because I think both my mommy and daddy are average height and I was only 19 inches at birth but who knows??

oh yeah.....and...

I am getting super excited for the weekend. My aunt Laura is coming to visit me on Saturday and will be here for a week. We can't wait to pick her up at the airport very soon... YAH!!!
