So many glasses so little time...

Today mommy and I decided to do a little shopping... and we needed our sunglasses because every girl needs a fancy pair of sunglasses. I had a few to choose from.. I'll let you decide which look better...

Wiggles and Giggles...

Tuesdays are the days mommy and I go to our wiggles and giggles class at the park district. Daddy always asks me" Avery what did you do today at wiggles and giggles class?". And then I have to tell him all the fun things we do. So today mommy thought it would be nice to bring the camera(you know mommy with that thing) and document what a regular class is like. Today was a bit different because it was an Easter theme and we got to play with eggs.


First when we get there we go to the mat and sit down.. this is where I do a lot of my 'thinking about life'........."hmmmmm wonder if my teacher is going to read us a book today?"
"yep!!! We got to sit with our mommy's and read 2 books"

"then we got to read an Easter story on our own. I picked out a really good one!"

"next up we got to shake some eggs while the music was playing"

"I shook but I just had to have a taste too!"

"mmmmm this egg sure is good!"

"then we get some time to crawl around..."

"and dump out the basket full of eggs"

"and then smile for the nice mommy next to me... but not MY mommy"

"I even get to interact with the other kids..this little girl is older than I am and her name is Luca"

"next up..... parachute time!!! We get to shake it and it makes waves"

"And once that's all over its back to 'pretending' to crawl again. My intentions are good but I just don't have enough oomph yet"

"and then at the very end I get to play with big toys. This one I got to ride on and I loved it! I hope mommy and daddy get me one of these soon!"

What a great day!

Today mommy and daddy's friends came out to see us in Arlington Heights. We got to go out to lunch with them and then come back to my house to play a little bit. I was excited to see Tommy again it had been a couple of months since we had seen each other. He was born just 13 days before me(on Mommy's birthday)!!

A little bunny....almost on the move!

Our little bunny is not quite crawling yet but she is getting really close. Today she discovered that the hardwood floors were a little easier to manuever around then the carpet......

Yesterday mommy and I went out to visit Aunt Laura and she watched me as mommy got her hair done. While I was there I got an Easter surprise from her: my very own bunny hat, carrot and basket. So of course mommy had to take a few thousand pictures today of me... So here goes!

Smiles all around today..."but now I am thinking about getting a little closer to the door so I can look out the window... so here I go"

"daddy is that you????...I can't see so I had to get a little closer, daddy???"

"nope that wasn't daddy... guess I'll just have to sit and wait until he gets home from work"

We have another 1st!!

This week must be the week of 1st's for Avery..... Today at nap time I was listening to Avery on the monitor and after only about 30 minutes of a nap she was already moving around and I looked at the monitor and I could only see her feet(which is weird) so I decided I needed to go in(with camera in hand) and investigate the situation and this is what I found...........

It is another 1st... Avery has figure out how to go from laying down to sitting up on her own!!!

I guess it's time to lower the mattress!!

The best sound in the world...

I have always loved the sound of laughter from Avery. I would say that thus far it has been my favorite sound on any day of the week.... Well today I have finally heard the word that every mother waits to hear...... Avery has been practicing many sounds lately. The minute we get in the car she decides it is a great time to start 'talking' up a storm... The sound that we hear most often from her is babababababababa.... which is ironic because we call her bottle her baba.

Today Geoff and Avery were in the other room talking to each other and I decided to sneak up on them and catch some sweet moments between daddy and daughter. The minute that Avery saw me standing in the doorway she started to whine and sure enough out of her mouth on 2 separate occasions came those beautiful words... MAMA as she was reaching out for me! There is no doubt that she has made that connection and she is exercising her voice and needs!

AHHHHH... the sweet sound of mama....Sure makes me smile. When people tell me that as a mother you have the best job in the world it is days like this that certainly confirm that for me on so many levels!!!!

No more pictures please!!

So some of you might be wondering why things on the blog have been kinda quiet lately. Well mommy and I have been keeping very busy with our classes and playgroups. We are starting to meet new friends and even spend time outside on the really nice days. I have also been 'running' with mommy in the stroller as she prepared for an 8K race she ran in on Sunday. We have been spending time at the lake which is just a short walk from our house. Not much time to be on the computer these days.. Mommy runs a tight ship!!(at least that is what I hear daddy say all the time)

As for me, I am just enjoying life.....not crawling yet but some days I get myself all ready to and then decide it is much easier to just roll over or call for mommy and daddy to come get me and flip me around. I continue to do great with my naps during the day and I'm finally in a good routine. Some days I like to roll around and around in my crib for 20-30 minutes before I fall asleep but I don't cry anymore.

You ask...."where are all the new pictures??" Well I have decided that I WILL NOT look at the camera for mommy and I WILL NOT smile either. Here is a good example of the kind of picture mommy gets these days.... I told her "at least this one I am looking at you!"

Today for the first time.... Avery surprised us with this new trick.... Yes the video is sideways and mommy still has not figured out how to change that but we had to include it since it was a true 1st!!!!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

What a beautiful day for the swings!!!

Today mommy and I had our wiggly giggly class from 11-11:40 and afterwards we decided to take advantage of the beautiful sunny weather. For the first time mommy took me to the park and we tried the swings. I had a great time but I was definitely more concerned with all the boys and girls around me because they were on recess at their school and I was swinging right next to them... So I didn't look at the camera for mommy, not even once, but that's ok I had a lot of fun!!!

7 months later.....

And still as cute as ever. The smile never changes but the cheeks keep getting chubbier.

Avery is having so much fun and getting so big!! We love her sweet personality and even her newly found 'attitude' when she doesn't get something she wants! She is very curious, still putting EVERYTHING in her mouth and smiling and laughing all the time. Daddy's favorite time of the day with Avery is on the weekends early in the mornings when mommy is still sleeping and it is just the two of them. I often hear them talking about the day or reading together. Last night I heard daddy counting to Avery and I listened a little closer only to find that he was telling her how old she had to be to date boys. He got up to 35 and said that will do it. Hahaha I had to laugh from the other room.....Daddy must have been a bit worried about Avery as I told him that yesterday at our baby class Avery met a new friend, Ben. Ben and Avery reached our for each other at one point in the class and were holding hands......it was really sweet!!!!

Swim, swim, swim, swim......

This morning was mommy and I's first swim class at the park district. I was really excited to go try it out. The pictures tell a good little story about my morning...

Here I am in the locker room with mommy getting ready for our 9:00am-9:30am water babies class. I had to squeeze my little bum into my swimsuit and my swim diaper... I am really happy to be trying this out....
Mommy was telling me all the fun things we would do in the pool and how we would meet other friends. I couldn't stop laughing and smiling about how fun this was going to be...

Next up.. we were waiting at the pool for the instructor to give us the OK to get in...

"OH MY... it's time!"

No pictures were taken in the pool because mommy and I were busy singing and playing games and even kicking our feet but here I am all wet and done with my first class.

That was a lot of work for one little girl... I was snoring zzzz's before we left the parking lot(at least that is what mommy told me). I had a super fun time in the water. I didn't cry and the instructor said that I looked pretty comfortable in the water. I can't wait for next week but for now I am going to sleep just a little longer.....

Meme's birthday weekend!!

This past weekend. Meme and Papa came up to visit. It was Meme's birthday on Sunday so we celebrated with her all weekend. It was a great weekend and I had lots of fun with the family.

On Sunday we went to brunch and here I am with daddy and my cousin Jack.. I got to try pancakes for the first time..now I didn't eat this big piece I assure you that mommy and daddy cut it up in really teeny tiny pieces for me. It was pretty good!

Yesterday mommy, daddy and I went to get my 6 month pictures taken at Picture People. I was really 6 1/2 months but who is counting:).... I was not really sure about all the bright lights and people trying to make me smile but I survived and in the end mommy bought lots of pictures of me so we can remember this time in my life....
